Muffin Pop Rock Cavite Original singer/songwriter Rain Mayo is a 24 year old recording artist who hails from Cavite. Her musical genre is predominantly Alternative Pop/Rock, with influences from such acclaimed Pinoy artists including Moonstar 88, Bayang Barrios, Cynthia Alexander, and Imago, as well as popular international performers such as Terra Naomi, The Cardigans, Garbage, and The Corrs. A self taught musician from an early age, Rain has been playing live music as both a soloist, and fronting bands since the age of 16 with her own original compositions, but predominantly more-so involving a wide variety of covers from all types of musical genres. With long term experience in playing bars and venues within the regular gig circuit, her career has recently taken a more focused outlook, now concentrating on her own original material due to positive comments regarding her virtuous singing voice and melodic song-writing abilities, from not only friends, but also of an international status with regards to the recent addition of songs to her personal website and various internet music-related promotion sites. As well as popular bar venues, she has also played high profile mall gigs and events, including an opening act slot for Kitchie Nadal in 2005, and a 2007 live television performance of an original composition with a previous band on the RJTV29 Late Night Show with Jojo Alejar. Rain's present aim from her long justified recording break, is to get back into the gig circuit playing quality venues where original music is appreciated, and to also promote the forthcoming release of her debut album, hopefully in return giving back some of the inspiration that was given to her through various other people and artists, that gave her the enthusiasm and ambition to pursue a well deserved prospective career choice, and to hopefully share her unconditional talents within the annals of the Pinoy music industry.
