Mithi Pop Rock Manila Mithi is a six piece concept band formed by drummer Jonah Ruiz on the 28th of September 2005. The band name Mithi came from the idea of guitarist Rigil Borromeo. We discussed about the name and we ended up naming the band Mithi. Though we are diverse in our influences and ideas we see to it that "iisa lang ang aming miniMITHI" - to affect and inspire people through our music. We vary in our influences since there are seven of us. Eventually we made it a point to be open-minded when it comes to appreciation. That is why Mithi willingly listens to music ranging from pop to rock, classical to ethnic, alternative to instrumental, and the likes. Defining the band's genre was one of our struggles when we were starting out, considering the fact that we have diverse influences. But after almost three years of painstakingly defining our music, we decided to brand out music as Pop- Alternative. Among our achievements include: the Eat Bulaga EBANDA eskwelahan CHAMPION and the NURock Awards 2008 SMART/URock college band of the year Nominee.
