Geek City Riot Alternative Rock Manila Geek City Riot (in short, GCR) started as an off shoot of another popular Cebu-based band called, "Happy Days." The original members of the band are Gumer, Fern(later on replaced by Ryan), and Percy Santos. Seeing as the band was starting to get notoriety in the Manila indie Rock scene, they decided to change their name to "Geek City Riot." GCR's primary musical influence is the American rock band "Weezer," though their current songs also have a tinge of other influences from various other bands such as "The Pixies" and "Interpol." The primary lyricist of the band is Gumer, but the entire band contributes to the musical arrangement. Their songs are mostly about love and relationships, loved ones who've passed, and other human interest topics, but generally done in an upbeat and positive way.
